Becoming Insect: the Parasite in Memòries d’una puça (2012) by Sol Picó

Focusing on Sol Picó's dance production of 2012, Memòries d'una puça, this article explores the undoing of the structural systems that shape bodies into form and organise them into social hierarchies. Attentive to the crisis of humanism and its decentering of dominant categories and models of subjectivity, it draws on Michel Serres's notion of the parasite and Deleuze and Guattari's concept of the 'Body Without Organs' to analyse the crossing over identities, dance categories and art forms in Picó's performance.
